Edtience and Charles pretty much owe their relationship to a hard-to-return bike from Capital Bikeshare. You see, Edtience was having some difficulty returning the bike she borrowed one day near her apartment in DC, when a nice young gentleman helped her out. That guy turned out to be Charles. Adding an even stranger twist to their story, later that day as Edtience checked out the OK Cupid dating site online, she realized that the same guy who had helped her with the bike had also checked out her profile at OK Cupid! It was meant to be, and they were inseparable from that day on. On a sunny Saturday in June, they got engaged, and on another sunny Saturday in August, they made it official, at Shade Trees and Evergreens Event Grounds in Frederick, surrounded by family and friends.
We love the personal details added to these homemade invitations… and the awesome color palette, too!
As the ladies got ready in the bridal suite, it was all smiles and laughter.
Meanwhile, in their getting-ready room, Charles and the guys shared the most enormous flask we have ever, ever seen.
Blossom and Basket Boutique created the lovely florals.
And then it was time for the “first look,” when Edtience and Charles would see each other for the first time on their wedding day!
These two were truly thrilled to see each other!
One of the best reactions from a groom, ever!
Edtience and Charles created the centerpieces together. We love the pallet wood stands that Charles thought up!
The special drinks to represent Edtience and Charles were popular all night. This one was for Edtience…
And the aptly named “Southern Gentleman” was for Charles.
These little frames served double duty — they helped guests find their seats, then they could be used as a home for Silly Station photo booth printouts.
And then it was time to walk down the aisle and get married!
As foodies, it was appropriate for Edtience and Charles to celebrate with a spice ceremony. Each jar represented a different part of their married life.
After they tied the knot, family members literally surrounded them with love.
After a few portraits on the grounds of Shade Trees, it was time to get announced into the reception…
… and have a first dance!
Our Silly Station photo booth was busy ALL. NIGHT. LONG.
The wedding cake was stunning, decorated with so many lovely little details. Family friend Christiana Nimpson (with Edtience, above) did an amazing job.
Toasting time was filled with laughs and tender moments.
And then the real partying began…
What a fantastic day, made better with help from our second shooter, Stefanie Harrington! Congratulations, Edtience and Charles… here’s to many happy years together!
