lauren and madhu

this past weekend i started a marathon wedding blitz with a super cool couple for a small downtown frederick wedding and celebration. the sky was alive with light for these two. every moment, from starting shots with the ladies to a late-night stroll with the couple, was a pleasure-and-a-half. i loved every minute!

lauren and madhu were married at st john catholic church, in downtown frederick, on an incredibly beautiful day! after a short ceremony honoring madhu’s hindu heritage, all the guests took a stroll through downtown to the delaplaine visual arts center for the reception. wow! what a place!

congrats, lauren and madhu! you were a pleasure to work with, thank you for allowing me to document your day – i had a blast!!

so…enough about how i enjoyed myself, on to the show!!

details, details, detailsi loved all the attention to details – pun intended!

homemade paper bouquetlauren made the flowers for her bouquet out of paper while watching many, many episodes of “house.” en masse flowers did an amazing job of assembling them into a bouquet!

love those pearls!lauren wore pearls of that her mother has owned since she was a girl.

veil time!lauren’s sister, megan, adjusts her veil and some really nifty little cloth flower clips for her hair.

strike a pose!lauren wore a simple, yet classy dress for the church ceremony and pictures, then she changed into an amazing sari for the reception.

little man, little bowtiethis little guy, sean, is lauren’s nephew, and he did not like me taking his picture. 🙁 the face says it all!

the groommadhu looked pretty snazzy in his suit! he also changed for the reception, into a super cool jodhpuri, an indian suit.

yes!!! inspiration shot, done!when i first met with lauren and madhu, she had a whole folder of really cool inspiration shots on her computer, this is our version of one of them. love it!!

escorting the groombefore the ceremony, friends and family escorted madhu through the streets of frederick in a wedding processional called a baraat.

married!!

short indian ceremony

giving directionson our way to the reception, lauren was kind enough to help some folks with directions…to her own reception! i guess she would be a good person to ask!

puttinthe older ladies helped lauren get her sari just right. amazing!

modelicious!!lookin’ good!

this guy could dance!this gentleman, in his super awesome jodhpuri, was ripping up the dance floor all night long, with tunes from dj paul garza!!

dance girls, dance!

late evening strollwe finished off the evening with a little stroll along frederick’s carroll creek.

David, this a great “appetizer”! I can’t wait to see all the photos. I’ve shared your link with many of my friends as well as our family members. Everyone has been impressed with your work, especially with that last photo. I like the “Details, Details”, and the pearls are nice too!
