Cornelia is originally from Germany; Mark is from Belgium. They met here in the United States at their common workplace, decided to marry during a holiday in Hawaii, and got officially engaged in France. Their wedding was held among a small group of family and friends in Northern Virginia, with a cozy reception in downtown Washington, D.C., at the lovely Fathom Gallery. Fluffy, white snowflakes greeted the new husband and wife for their Valentine’s Day celebration. A perfectly romantic end to a perfectly romantic day!

Cornelia and Mark were married by the Rev. Aaron Fulp Eickstaedt at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in McLean. The pastor had officiated another wedding we photographed just a few months prior!

Following their vows, Mark and Cornelia welcomed church guests to join in a champagne and cupcakes reception.

Mark was happy to have his children, Thijs, Lydia and Kasper, who traveled from abroad, with him on his wedding day.

Next, it was on to D.C., for a dinner by Well Dunn Catering at Fathom Gallery.

We are so in love with this cake, by Fluffy Thoughts, especially the likenesses of Mark and Cornelia and their dog, Coco!

Even Coco got a special treat at the reception!

Thank you, Mark and Cornelia, for allowing us to capture your wedding day! Best wishes for many years of happiness!
