Even though Cindy and James grew up just around the corner from each other, they never actually met. It took an online dating site to bring them together, many years later. After they went ring shopping together, Cindy was expecting a proposal any day. It happened just before they left to tour a possible wedding venue together. The proposal was simple and sweet, and made Cindy cry. We first caught up with the happy couple in late August for an engagement session around Frederick and Monocacy National Battlefield…
On a cool, windy day in mid-October, it was time for them to say “I do,” at Serra Valley Farms in Mount Airy.

Cindy and James opted for a first look before the ceremony. We set James up in the woods with a blindfold, and he waited patiently for his bride…

After some portraits with the happy couple, we grabbed the rest of the wedding party, too.

Cindy had these special necklaces made for James’ daughters. They say: “Marriage made you my family, love made you my daughter.”

American flag sunglasses: impossible to see through, but so worth it.

As guests arrived, they boarded a wagon ride out to the ceremony grounds.

Cindy got a last-minute touch-up from bridesmaid/hairstylist/makeup artist Amanda.

The bridesmaids, groomsmen, and James were the last to board.

Cindy hopped into her dad’s sweet ride instead!

They said their vows under a giant willow tree and the bright, shining sun.

Of course there was barbecue for dinner, provided by The Pig Hole, to round out the theme of BBQ, boots, and beer!

Pies for dessert, from Baugher’s Orchards.

Plenty of great dancing tunes were spun by Stephan Zimmerman of Legendary Sounds.

A beautiful night, all around. Congratulations to you, James and Cindy, and thanks for including us in your special day.
