christina and mike are baltimore ravens fans. big ravens fans. oh, and they are also in love. every year mike goes to at least one away game with his buddies. and christina, she loves going to home games, or watching the ravens on tv or in sports bars. with mike, of course!

i met up with these two love birds at the gorgeous linganore winecellars back in november on a crisp and beautiful late fall day. they love linganore wine and go out to the winery often for their festivals. (confession: we at spence photographics love linganore winecellars, too! it’s been one of our favorite parts of living in maryland!) so, we trekked out in to the vineyard for some great scenery and had some fun in downtown frederick, too!

amanda and carl are most definitely in love. you can see it in the way they look at each other. you can see it in the way they hold hands. you can hear it in their voices.

so it was only natural that during our entire shoot on a recent fall afternoon, they had no problem giving each other lots of “smooches” for the camera. yep, they also like to kiss.

we met up on a gorgeous sunday at catoctin mountain orchard in thurmont. what a place! loads and loads of wonderful spots to shoot, especially with an amazing sunset to light it all!

the apples were in full bloom on the trees, good enough to eat straight off the branch!

liana and steven are married! yay! we had a blast on their big day at matapeake state park in stevensville, maryland! everything was amazing, from the cupcakes(super yum!) to the home-made details(super awesome!)! more pics to come soon!

meet jessi and steven. two kids in love. he’s a native marylander, she was born in illinois. they have been dating since high school. and a little while ago, steve proposed to jessi on the beach. perfect.

i met up with the happy couple a little while ago in middletown, maryland for some fun engagement images. we met outside the main cup, a really awesome local eatery and coffeehouse, and right away they felt like celebrities. literally moments after we met up, a server came bursting out the doors yelling, “hey, sis!” it was jessi’s brother! so, when we went inside for some pics we were treated like royalty. yay!

i am crazy excited for their big day, which will take place at the comus inn at sugarloaf mountain in dickerson, maryland. such a beautiful place for a wedding!

i have driven past this little old building for years on the main drag in middletown, and finally got to shoot in front of it! such a cool place!

meet liana and steven. they’re penn staters. they rock. enough said.

we met up a short while ago in their adopted hometown of stevensville, maryland. (check it out the next time you go over the bay bridge, it’s a fun little town. first exit. blink and you’ll miss it.) driving there, i kept seeing seriously massive storm clouds brewing over the Bay. hoping for the best, we watched as most of the storm swung by us, and braved windy conditions at times, but had a blast!

after walking all over stevensville, we headed to matapeake state park, where they are getting married. what a cool place! steven found an abandoned parking lot with a path that led to the beach. but after only minutes on the beach, the skies opened up and we all got soaked! they were super troopers about the whole thing, and let me get some fun walking in the rain pics!

right here is when the rain started coming down, they loved it!

jennifer and william were a late year surprise for me. i met with jennifer and her mom and sister back in september and fell in love with the idea of shooting their wedding. everything they were planning, for a wedding only two months away, sounded so grand and exciting. a few weeks later, we finalized everything and started planning all of our shoots, engagement, wedding and silly station.

our first order of business, the engagement shoot, was awesome! i loved meeting up with them in poolesville, maryland, where they both grew up and now live. we had a blast just wandering through town, finding cool spots to shoot. bring on the images!

we decided to end our session at the falcons’ football field and stands, where jennifer and william both made many appearances during their high school years. yay!

and then, only 9 days later, the big day was upon us. the wedding day turned out to be so nice and beautiful, a perfect late fall day! i started ta jennifer’s parents’ house and hung around with the ladies getting ready.

meet erica and matt. they’re gettin’ married. oh, and they are one of the funnest couples around. period.

erica is a reporter for baltimore’s most famous paper. (she used to work with my wife here in frederick. and we miss her, sniff sniff!) erica has a knack for getting to the bottom of a story. matt is a producer for television news. he works the night shift, ugh, but loves his job. he also loves erica.

they met in college. at the student newspaper. and sharing a byline kind of kicked things off. i love their story since my wife, molly, and i met at our student paper, too! and fell in love over journalism. yay!

so, on a recent, gorgeous fall day, we met up at the goucher college campus and had an amazing e-session. after seeing all the sights, we headed down to the inner harbor of baltimore for more scenery and fun!

meet raiquel and dwayne. they’re gettin’ married. in september. in the district. they’re havin’ a kickin’ party at the sunset room at national harbor. it’s gonna be a blast. so, we met up recently at national harbor to shoot a fun e-session. awesome!

meet amanda and chris. they are young. and in love. and have the cutest little dog ever. and the dog is in love with them.

we met up in the little town of harpers ferry, west virginia. if you’ve never been there, and love cute little towns with some character, go there right away. so many neat little spots!

the session rocked! when you combine a really cute and loving couple with awesome scenery and beautiful light, you get rockin’ photos. rock on!

here she is, the star of the evening, maddie. as amanda described her, “8 pounds of pure terror.” she thinks she is more like 80 pounds, but is cute as a button!

i am super excited for their wedding next may at the ever fun stone manor country club. good times!

jenn and nathan are so fun! i met up with this hip, young couple in baltimore’s federal hill area recently for an awesome engagement session. from the sweet ride they drove around in to their adorable daughter, it was an incredible evening. they are getting married at shade trees and evergreens in libertytown later in august. can’t wait! it is gonna be party central!

jenn’s dad, jeff, allowed the couple to drive around in his ’61 chevrolet corvette for the shoot! what a car! scores of people stopped us to check it out, including a very nice meter maid, who let us park illegally for a few shots. thanks!

federal hill holds special meaning to jenn and nathan… it is where they got engaged, just a few park benches from this one! the “real” bench was occupied by a surly character when we were shooting.
